Lady Jane’s Founders at RT BOOK Reviews

Recently the fine folks at RT BOOK Reviews caught up with us and offered to host a very special–dare we say VIP–Salon on the magazine’s website. Our response?

“Yes, please!!!”

Lady Jane’s Salon NYC from Danielle Valente on Vimeo.

Savor the less than two-minute video. Share it with your romance loving friends. And, if you’re in NYC or thereabouts, please plan to join us next month, Monday, October 3, 7pm at Madame X when we’ll celebrate the Month of Boo with five fabulous romance and women’s fiction readings. As always, your $5 admission supports the Salon’s basic operations and our end-of-year donation to our house charity, Women in Need.

The Joy of Being Popular: A Film on Lady Jane’s

Emmy Award winning documentary filmmaker, Laurie Kahn, Executive Producer of The Popular Romance Project, just released her film short on Lady Jane’s today.

With grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Mass Humanities, Romance Writers of America, and the Tavris Fund at Brandeis University/Women’s Studies Research Center, The Popular Romance Project seeks to “explore the fascinating, often contradictory origins and influences of popular romance as told in novels, films, comics, advice books, songs, and internet fan fiction, taking a global perspective—while looking back across time as far as the ancient Greeks.” The website, mere months old, has already received hits from 80 countries!

Please take two ticks to watch (and “Like”) the video short of Lady Jane’s Salon. The less than four minute film is packed with interviews and readings from our guest authors that night: Sarah MacLean, Karen Rose, Carrie Lofty, Dianna Love, Leanna Renee Hieber (Salon co-founder), and Eloisa James as well as brief behind-the-scenes interviews with the Lady Jane’s Salon Team.
